Torre del Molino Significant Archaeological Find 415/2019
Due to its location and characteristics, it is believed that it could be the foundations and first levels of an old circular tower, known as Torre del Molino, since the design of the foundations coincides with the type of foundations documented for that tower which is known to have been in that area (Figures 3 and 4).

La Torre del Molino o atalaya de Torre Cardela se sitúa a más de 1200 metros de altitud sobre el nivel del mar. Es por tanto, una de las atalayas a mayor altura de Granada. Corona un pequeño cerro llamado del molino, rodeado de olivares y cultivos de cereal. Al parecer el baluarte fue transformado, en época cristiana, en un molino de viento.

La Torre del Molino se ubica sobre la cuadra del antiguo molino harinero, era dónde reposaban las caballerías que portaban desde los pueblos las maquilas para moler. Es un alojamiento rural que se levanta en 3 plantas: La planta baja con un amplio hall enlosado de granito, la cocina-comedor y dos aseos; en la primera planta dos amplios.

The origin of the town's name is found in the Torre de los Molinos (Tower of the Mills), later called Torre Pimentel after a soldier who helped Ferdinand and Isabella conquer Malaga at the end of the 15th century. The tower stands between calle San Miguel and Cuesta del Tajo, on the way to Bajondillo beach.
